Wow! Mother Nature sure sent us a “whirlwind” of her wild weather within the last day! But, we told her we're here to stay and we will NOT be blown away! Cherries and Blueberries will make a brief appearance in Week Four of the "New" 15-Week Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market where you may Buy Local, Eat Fresh, and Stay a While!
The market is located in the Railyard behind the historic Mount Airy train station at 3 North Main Street, Mount Airy and is convenient to parking in the Municipal Parking Lot off of Park Avenue and in the Bank Parking Lot across Main Street.
Come on down to the market this Wednesday, June 22, 3-7 pm, where you will find our farmers and producers with their local farm-fresh foods and goods, listen to the light alternative rock of our awesome local open mic musician, Austin Bristor; and, learn about our local rail history, the Old Main Line and take a walk on the Rails-to-Trails line between the market in the Railyard and Watkins Park.

Willow Creek Manor Farming - Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought tomatoes, turnips, radish, scallions, garlic tips, lettuce mix and more last week, let's see what they bring to Week Four! On their nearby New Windsor farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Maryland, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.
Five Points Farm Market & Greenhouse - Featured this week: Cherries and Blueberries! There is a limited supply, so come get them while you can! In addition, this week Five Points will have Zucchini, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Greens, Spring Onion, Beets, Sugar Snap Peas (limited amount), New Red Potatoes and Cabbage. Offering a plentiful variety of locally-grown, farm-fresh produce, fruit & berries and more when in season ~ Vegetables: Sweet Corn, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Peppers, Beets, Onions, Zucchini, Garlic, Lettuce; Fruit: Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, Apples & Berries. Pong's Orchard - Known as Howard County's secret garden, Fulton-based Pong's Orchard is well-known in Maryland for growing Citrus Plants, exotic fruits and their Asian pears along with other fruits of the season. This week, Pong's Orchard will bring a variety of Citrus Plants including: Meyer Lemon, Calamondin, Persian Limes, Guava, Papaya, Basil Plants plus various peppers and tomato plants. In the coming weeks, as the season grows strong, Pong’s Orchard will bring their locally grown fruit - Asian Pears, Peaches, Plums, Nectarines, Figs, Apples and More! Pong’s Orchard accepts WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP checks for their farm-fresh, locally grown and nutritious fruit.
The Meat Shack at Strohmer's Farm - Pork, Beef, Goat and a Plentiful Supply of Duck and Chicken Eggs – Lately, The Meat Shack has been bringing a variety of their farm-fresh, naturally produced meats including pork sausage and more! Wonder what they’re bringing this week? Come down and see… By the Way, we’ve got Joe Joe’s Hog Shack coming with BBQ sauces that you could pair with The Meat Shack’s produced meats! Mmmm…Mmmm… “Lip Smackin’ Good!”

Austin Bristor, Local Open Mic Musician - Austin Bristor's performance style includes light alternative rock and cool music genres. He is instrumental in keeping the music alive at the local Open Mic Nights at SuperFoods on Main. Austin is a passionate musician, plays the guitar with ease and sings with his heart and soul.

The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market was formed in 2007 and is a production of the Mount Airy Main Street Association.
