Celebrate at Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market - listed as one of Maryland’s Best Agriculture farmers' markets - this Wednesday, September 7th, from 3 to 7 pm - as we say goodbye to a phenomenal 15-week season! We’ve felt the vibe at the market with local music and a great mix of farmers and producers from our local four-county region and beyond. We’ve enjoyed hosting community-based activities and having you - the Greater Mount Airy community - join us at the market every Wednesday this summer!
We are honored to let you know that two of Maryland’s cabinet members, Maryland Secretary of Planning Wendi Peters and Maryland Department of Agriculture Secretary Joe Bartenfelder, and others have heard some wonderful things about our newly expanded 15-week market and will be joining us in the late afternoon to take in all the market has to offer! Please join us in giving them a big Greater Mount Airy community welcome! Our market is going to be full of wonderment and excitement this Wednesday for sure!
This Wednesday, we’re hosting The Connor Stone Band, a hot alternative band from Frederick County! This group adds a tremendous vibe with their awesome, harmonizing voices and includes Connor Stone, Billy Bristor and local duo, Stag & Owl! For a sneak preview, listen to Every Morning, a catchy cover tune performed by The Connor Stone Band! We are so delighted to have this talented group of musicians with us to end our first season as an expanded, all inclusive, 4-county community farmers’ market!
Make our Soldiers Smile … We’re hosting Treats for our Troops this week who will be adding a wonderful family activity this week. For kids of all ages, lift the spirits of our soldiers and give them something to smile about! You and your family will enjoy creating a cards for our military troops!

The Meat Shack at Strohmer's Farm - Strohmer's has all you need for your Weekend Cookouts!!! The Meat Shack has been bringing a variety of their farm-fresh, naturally produced meats including smoked pork sausage and more! Wonder what they’re bringing this week? A variety of their farm-fresh meats, from pork sausage, bacon, ham steaks, all pork hot dogs, hot Italian sausage, prime cuts of beef, ground beef, beef cubes, ground goat and more! Special Orders are accepted for Strip Steaks and Chicken Parts. Strohmer's also has a plentiful Supply of Duck and Chicken Eggs too!
Whispering Breeze Farm - This Taneytown-based farm owned by Brower family has some of the best local cheese around! From their herd of lovely dairy cows, you may find the following cheeses at the market this season: Hard Cheese ‐ Raw Milk Cheese: Cheddar, Garlic & Chive, Smoked Cheddar, Italian, Bacon Dill, Smoked Bacon Dill, Jalapeno; Wine Cheese (seasonal): Merlot Cheddar, Raspberry Cheddar; Pasteurized Milk Cheese:Gouda, Swiss, Buffalo Ranch Cheddar, Havarti, Caraway Havarti. All delicious and full of savory local cheesy goodness.
Willow Creek Manor Farming - Get your "garden salad" (fixin's) and a whole lot more at Willow Creek Manor Farm! Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, Turnips, Radishes, Scallions, Spring Onions, Summer Squash, Patti Pan Squash, Eight Ball Squash, Romaine Hearts, Lettuce Mix, Sugar Snap Peas, Black Raspberries and More in the last several weeks! On their nearby New Windsor farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Maryland, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.
Five Points Farm Market & Greenhouse – What will Five Points Farm Market and Greenhouse bring this week to the market? New this week... Red Sweet Potatoes, White Nectarines, Kennebec White Potatoes and Cauliflower… Five Points will also be bringing Tomatoes, Yellow Tomatoes, Heirloom Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Red Potatoes, Green Beans, Wax Beans, Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Red Beets, Bell Peppers, Sweet Colored Peppers (Lunch Box size), Hot Peppers (Ghost, Serrano, Jamaican, Manzanos), Red Onions, Candy Onions, Sweet Bi-Colored Corn, Cantaloupe, Freestone Peaches, White Freestone Peaches, Honey Crisp Apples (possibly), Cucumbers, Watermelon and Cut Flowers. Pong’s Orchard – Pongs Orchard, Howard County's "Secret Garden" located in Fulton, Maryland, will have Asian Pears this week along with apples, peaches, nectarines, plums and locally grown and nutritious fruit. Pong’s Orchard accepts WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP Checks for fruits and vegetables.

Cryin’ Johnnies** – Cryin’ Johnnies will be Hot Doggin’ at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market this Wednesday… Come get your Naked Dog or Dress your Dog ("dawg") up with some Ketchup & Mustard, have it with crab, chili and your way … and Hurley’s way … any way you have your dog, your “dog gonna” love it! Cryin’ Johnnies will leave you cryin’ for more!
Pheasant Hill Farm** - Pheasant Hill Farm’s Marjorie Satterlee will be bringing several varieties of tasty Pheasant Hill Farm freshly-canned jars of jams, jellies from their fruits, veggies and berries grown on the farm and raw honey (bottled fresh by Marjorie produced by some busy local honey bees).
Vista View Farms** - Autumn and Wintertime weather is just around the bend! It’s time get your Vista View Farm wool blankets, socks and more from Damascus-based Vista View Farms. Local Farmers, Marla and Andrew Keller, raise BFL (Bluefaced Leicesters) sheep, a breed known to produce the finest fleece. They will also have fall mums for sale too. Vista View Farm also has produce for sale at their farm on Clarksburg Rd.
Stress Recess LLC at Wellness Point** – Come relieve that summertime stress at the market this Wednesday with some good ol’ massage therapy with Marissa Johnson, a licensed massage therapist.

(Please note that due to circumstances beyond Woodbourne Creamery’s control, we learned today that the creamery will not able to make it this week! But, don’t despair! Please take a quick day-trip down to Woodbourne Creamery at Rock Hill Orchard, take a tour, pick your own and enjoy the farm-fresh dairy products produced by their sustainably raised grass-fed Golden Guernseys. Woodbourne Creamery at Rock Hill Orchard is just inside the Montgomery County line on the right as you head south on Route 27. )

Treats for Troops. Send a smile to our soldiers and make greeting cards for our troops. There’s nothing like opening a card and feeling the warm embrace, a kind word, that touch of a caring community. Treats for Troops - a group that sends monthly care packages to our troops overseas - has arranged to have a session to make greeting cards for our troops this Wednesday at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market. This is an activity that transcends all age groups. Let’s all join in to support our troops!

The Connor Stone Band. Enjoy listening to The Connor Stone Band! Local to Frederick County, the alternative group will be with us this Wednesday as we close the market for the season! The band includes the awesome musical talents of Connor Stone, Billy Bristor and local duo, Stag & Owl!
Also, please give a huge hand to our local Mount Airy Open Mic Musician, Austin Bristor, who has performed at the market and helped arrange some of the performances by local talent this season at the market! Catch Austin and other talented musicians at SuperFoods on Main's Open Mic Nights on the last Friday of ever month, 7-9pm!

The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market was formed in 2007 and is a production of the Mount Airy Main Street Association.
