Woohoo!  We're now in our Week Two of the "New" 15-Week Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market where you may Buy Local, Eat Fresh, and Stay a While! Come on down to the market this Wednesday, June 8, 3-7 pm where you will find these vendors, and have fun with listening to the Howard Community College Ukulele Ensemble led by Jared Denhard and "Get Your Churn On" at this season's Feel the Churn Butter Aerobics!  (Convenient to parking in Municipal Lot on Park Avenue or across the street in the Bank Parking Lot.)

Willow Creek Manor Farming - Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought Turnips, Radishes, Scallions, Garlic tips, and Lettuce mix last week, let's see what they bring to Week Two!  On the 117 acre farm, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.

Five Points Farm Market & Greenhouse - Last week Five Points had a lot of tasty STRAWBERRIES, Lettuce, Spinach Onions, Rhubarb, Cut Flowers (Lovely Peonies), and plants, and some cut herbs. Wonder what they will bring this week?  Probably the same! So, STRAWBERRIES and more! Offering a plentiful variety of locally-grown, farm-fresh produce, fruit & berries and more when in season ~ Vegetables: Sweet Corn, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Peppers, Beets, Onions, Zucchini, Garlic, Lettuce; Fruit: Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, Apples & Berries
The Garden Basket (thru June 15) ** - Annuals, Perrenials, Hanging Baskets, Herbs
The Meat Shack at Strohmer's Farm - Locally produced farm-fresh meats out of Woodstock, Maryland, The Meat Shack offers Pork, Beef, Goat and Duck and Chicken Eggs - The Meat Shack will provide Whole or cut chicken parts by Special Order.
Woodbourne Creamery at Rock Hill Orchard** Come get your local  dairy products made with milk produced by Mount Airy-based Woodbourne Creamery's lovely Golden Guernsey Cows - Ice Cream, Creamline Milk, Chocolate Milk
Whispering Breeze Farm - This Taneytown based farm owned by Brower family has some of the best local cheese around! From their herd of lovely dairy cows, you may find the following cheeses at the market this season: Hard Cheese ‐ Raw Milk Cheese: Cheddar, Garlic & Chive, Smoked Cheddar, Italian, Bacon Dill, Smoked Bacon Dill, Jalapeno; Wine Cheese (seasonal): Merlot Cheddar, Raspberry Cheddar; Pasteurized Milk Cheese:Gouda, Swiss, Buffalo Ranch Cheddar, Havarti, Caraway Havarti
Frey’s Brewing Company - a select brew from Frey's Brewery Collection - what could it be?  Last week it was Jenny's Sister, a delicious barley ale!
The Pizza Llama - Woodfired Pizza! - Offering wood-fired pizza on-site while you wait! This week the Pizza Llama will be offering a special pizza with ingredients straight from the other farmers and producers at the market!
Furnace Hills Coffee - Furnace Hills Coffee will have dollar shots ... shots of espresso, that is! We'll have our portable espresso machine and will be serving up our East Coast Espresso. Stop by the market and try the smoothest espresso on the East Coast. Furnace Hills offers a variety of freshly roasted and ground pound bags of coffee plus freshly brewed Hot and Cold Coffee Drinks and Burlap Hand Bags
The Kombucha Lady (of Dodson's Promised Land Farm) - Delicious and tangy flavors of Kombucha - The Kombucha Lady, Liz Dodson, will be bringing a variety of freshly made Kombucha, a fermented tea (a probiotic) made with seasonal fruits and white or black teas. Delicious and Healthy too! Really loved last week's flavor, Strawberry
The Dough Whisperer - Stop by the Dough Whisperer for your freshly baked Breads, Cakes, Pies, Muffins, Cookies, Granola and other delicious baked desserts!  Mmmm... Great to pair with any farm-fresh foods found at the market!

SuperFoods on Main** - Delicious and Healthy Salads made from Farm-Fresh Greens and more from your local & healthful Super Foods (and they are super) across the street on Main!

Music at the Market: 3:30 - 6:00 PM
Howard Community College Ukulele Ensemble led by Jared Denhard!  We're celebrating Ukes and Cukes at the market this Wednesday with the HCC Uke Ensemble! Imagine the strumming of one uke, but 8?  This is a treat!  The music will start off with HCC's Uke Ensemble Director, Jared Denhard and his friend, Kirk Kubicek, with  a special treat that only this duo could give followed by the 8-member Uke Ensemble.  An accomplished musician, Jared Denhard is the Uke Director for HCC and Stevenson University's Uke Ensembles plus he is a member of the Celtic Band, O'Malley's March.  "A Uke is a Uke and a Cuke is a Cuke," as quoted by Jared Denhard - The Cukes celebrated will be DC Dills! 


Feel the Churn Butter Aerobics: 6:00 PM
Come Get Your Churn on at this season's Feel the Churn Butter Aerobics to benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on this Wednesday at 6pm! You'll have fun while you shake jars of locally produced Heavy Whipping Cream to make your own butter to take home! For a $25.00 minimum donation, you'll get two jars with whipping cream and have the pure buttery pleasure of shaking it till you make it! Butter that is!

The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market was formed in 2007 and is a production of the Mount Airy Main Street Association.   The 2016 Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market runs on Wednesdays, June 1-September 7, 2016, 3 - 7 p.m. It is located  in the historic Town of Mount Airy, Maryland in the parking area behind the historic Mount Airy train station and nearby the Blossom and Basket Boutique at 3 North Main Street, Mount Airy, MD 21771.
