We’ve got it goin’ on here at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market this Wednesday from 3 to 7 pm as we celebrate our Old Main Line when you can Buy Local, Eat Fresh, Stay a While and take a hike on the Rails to Trails, stroll across Main Street for a peek at the caboose, “Mackenzie," and listen to the acoustic folk music tunes of our local friends, Larry and Mary Hushour! In addition to all our wonderful local farmers and producers, we have a new guest vendor this week, Enter Exit Escape,Winner of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce’s $5,000 grand prize at the Carroll Biz Challenge 2016 to build their first escape room! From their herd of lovely dairy cows, you may find the following cheeses at the market this season: Hard Cheese ‐ Raw Milk Cheese: Cheddar, Garlic & Chive, Smoked Cheddar, Italian, Bacon Dill, Smoked Bacon Dill, Jalapeno; Wine Cheese (seasonal): Merlot Cheddar, Raspberry Cheddar; Pasteurized Milk Cheese:Gouda, Swiss, Buffalo Ranch Cheddar, Havarti, Caraway Havarti. Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, Turnips, Radishes, Scallions, Spring Onions, Summer Squash, Patti Pan Squash, Eight Ball Squash, Romaine Hearts, Lettuce Mix, Sugar Snap Peas, Black Raspberries and More in the last several weeks! On their nearby New Windsor farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Maryland, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.
