2016 Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market Opens June 1, Seeks Vendors

Buy Local. Eat Fresh. The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market is to kick off Wednesday, June 1 at 3 pm with a wide variety of seasonal, locally grown, farm-fresh foods & more!

"The 2016 Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market will kick off on Wednesday, June 1 at 3 p.m. in the lot behind the historic Mount Airy train station," announced Ellie Bonde, Market Master, Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market. "The farmers' market will run on Wednesdays, June 1 through September 7, 3 - 7 p.m."

"The market," conveyed Bonde, "will be renewed with an innovative edge. We plan to make it a community centerpiece, a gathering place for all ages.  In addition to growing our farmers' market this season, the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market committee is planning a host of activities including featuring weekly live music and educational events celebrating our local community. We are engaging our Main Street merchants and are already collaborating with our local restaurants to host tastings and farm-to-fork events."

The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market is seeking vendors - farmers and producers - from the Greater Mount Airy, Maryland four county area for its 15-week Wednesday market.

Vendor Applications are welcome from farmers and producers who have their own locally-grown farm-fresh products, such as Vegetables; Fruits; Meats; Cheeses; Milk Products; Eggs; Specialty Products including Pickles, Relishes, Salsas, Sauerkraut, Sauces, Spices and Rubs; Jams, Jellies and Fruit Butters; Ciders; Teas; Coffees; Baked Goods; Soaps; Plants and Nursery Items and more. Vendors must have all permits and certifications as required by Carroll County and the Maryland Department of Agriculture. Vendors are required to be set up and ready to go 15 minutes prior to market opening (by 2:45 pm) and stay for the length of the market day. $150.00/season. The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market was formed in 2007 and is a production of the Mount Airy Main Street Association.   The 2016 Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market runs on Wednesdays, June 1-September 7, 2016, 3 - 7 p.m. It is located  in the historic Town of Mount Airy, Maryland in the parking area behind the historic Mount Airy train station and nearby the Blossom and Basket Boutique at 3 North Main Street, Mount Airy, MD 21771.
