TODAY'S RECIPE & NUTRITION TIP!   Grilled Steak with Tomato & Charred Corn Salsa from St. Petersburg Foodies. Liven up a beautiful seared and sliced piece of steak with a zingy tomato and charred corn salsa. Steak, tomatoes and corn are of course the stars of this show. Both tomatoes and corn are in season and can be found at Five Points Farm & Greenhouse & Scenic View Orchards! You may find your select cuts of beef plus pork, poultry, eggs and more at The Staffords Farm!
Did you know? Corn is both a grain and a vegetable. "According to the USDA, if the corn is harvested when the kernels are soft, it is a vegetable. When farmers harvest fully mature corn, it is a grain. The sweet corn humans consume — only about one percent of all crops — falls under the vegetable category. The corn in cornbread, polenta, and grits is a grain. More than 65 percent of the corn grown in the U.S. is used for biofuel or animal feed." Learn more about corn, its nutritional benefits and tips for preparing corn from the article, The Surprising Nutritional Benefits of Corn.
Be sure to visit all of our amazing farmers and producers as listed above, and cool your core with a Jessica's Snowball while you're at the Market this Wednesday!

TODAY'S RECIPE & NUTRITION TIP! Kohlrabi Slaw from A Couple of Cooks.  "This kohlrabi slaw recipe is bright, crunchy and zingy! It’s one of the best ways to eat this unique vegetable.  Got a bulb of kohlrabi and not sure what to do with it? This unique vegetable looks a little like an alien, and if you’re like us: you were stumped on how to use it the first time. Here’s a perfect way to highlight the crunchy, raw texture of this veggie: Kohlrabi Slaw! It’s bright, crunchy and zingy paired with tart apple, sweet carrot and a Mediterranean-style vinegary dressing. It’s our favorite way to use it: bar none.  Find your Kohlrabi, apples, spring onions and more at Scenic View Orchard today!
What is Kohlrabi and how is it a superfood?  Per  Kohlrabi Nutrition Facts and Health Benefits by VeryWellFit.com . . .
