A Maryland’s Best Agriculture farmers’ market, the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market is where you will find all the great locally grown and/or produced foods and more … all in one place … a place where you can stop to buy local, eat fresh and stay a while to enjoy our open air market and the lively old-time acoustic music!

What is the Buy Local Challenge? The Buy Local Challenge is a personal commitment to support farms by eating local this week. And, we hope you will do just that at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market!  And, you’re at the market, take a stroll down the Old Main Line Rails-to-Trails section that leads down to Watkin’s Park!

Come on down to the market this Wednesday where you will find our farmers and producers with their local farm-fresh foods and goods, plus listen the good old-time acoustic music performed by Darla Jean and the Somethin’ or Others.

The market is located in the Railyard  behind the historic Mount Airy train station at 3 North Main Street, Mount Airy and is convenient to parking in the Municipal Parking Lot off of Park Avenue and in the Bank Parking Lot across Main Street.

Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, Turnips, Radishes, Scallions, Spring Onions, Summer Squash, Patti Pan Squash, Eight Ball Squash, Romaine Hearts, Lettuce Mix, Sugar Snap Peas, Black Raspberries and More in the last weeks!  On their nearby New Windsor farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Maryland, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.

Also this Week! Celebrating Agriculture with a FREE SCREENING of FARMLAND. Did you know that there's also a Free Screening of FARMLAND, the film at the  Carroll County Library, Mt. Airy Branch this Thursday, July 21, 6:30-9:00 PM? We invite you to watch the documentary Farmland, an intimate look at the lives of farmers and ranchers and their passion for a way of life that has been passed down from generation to generation, yet continues to evolve. A short discussion will follow the screening. Light Refreshments will be served.

Miranda Judd, Maryland Musician. For the second time this season, our patrons may enjoy listening to the Sweet Sounds of Miranda Judd, Maryland Musician. Miranda's music cuts across multiple generations. Her individual performance style is largely rooted in Country, Alternative, Classic and Light Rock and Pop genres. Miranda can easily belt out Patsy Cline's "Crazy" and Janis Joplin's "Bobby McGee" in addition to singing her own songs. A local favorite to the agricultural community, Miranda has been supporting the local farms for the past three years by performing at farmers' markets, Larriland Farm's fall festivals, the Lisbon Christmas Horse Parade and the Lisbon Farmers Feed the Hungry Christmas Tractor Parade.

Come Celebrate!!! Come Celebrate with us this Wednesday, July 13th, when the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market will celebrate Midsummer!
It’s Midsummer, it’s the time that sun shines down on us with Mother Nature’s blessings, to grow the crops and to celebrate the summer harvest.

What do we have for you this Wednesday at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market? 

... A plentiful harvest of local farm fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, music and more ...

The market is focusing on Sun Health.  Please remember to treat yourself kindly when it comes to the sun… use sun protection, sunscreen, visors, and more.  It’s also time to remember the benefits of the sun.  We need sun to grow our crops and we need the sun to remain healthy too!
 
But, what about “A Midsummer’s Night Dream on Main” … that takes place from 6-9 pm on the Mount Airy Main Street Plaza?  It’s a tasteful evening of sampling of select local Maryland wines, ales and cheeses which are also for sale “unopened” for you to take home to enjoy!  Find out more below.

The Pizza Llama let us know that they will have to take a break this week from the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market, but will be returning again next Wednesday, July 20th, 2016!  We long for Andrew’s delicious wood-fired pizza, not only because it IS delicious, but because we know he uses the farm-fresh products found at our market!

Come Celebrate!!! Come Celebrate with us this Wednesday, July 6th when the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market will celebrate in many ways!  To kick off the month of July, we’re celebrating Kids’ and Independence Days, and the start of the Abundant Harvest Season!
 
What do we have for you this Wednesday at the Market?  What is usually only knee high by the fourth of July?  We’ve got the first of the season’s sweet corn entering the market! So, come down to the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market this Wednesday to find your local sweet corn and a plentiful variety of farm fresh products.

The market is located in the Railyard  behind the historic Mount Airy train station at 3 North Main Street, Mount Airy and is convenient to parking in the Municipal Parking Lot off of Park Avenue and in the Bank Parking Lot across Main Street.

Come on down to the market this Wednesday, June 6, 3-7 pm, where you will find our farmers and producers with their local farm-fresh foods and goods, listen to the some great light alternative rock!

Willow Creek Manor Farming - Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, Turnips, Radishes, Scallions, Spring Onions, Summer Squash, Patti Pan Squash, Eight Ball Squash, Romaine Hearts, Lettuce Mix, Sugar Snap Peas, Black Raspberries and More last week!  On their nearby New Windsor farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Maryland, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.

Five Points Farm Market & Greenhouse - Featured this week: SWEET CORN! There is a limited supply, so come to the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market get your SWEET CORN as soon as you can! In addition, this week Five Points has a plentiful harvest of Tomatoes, New potatoes, Sweet Cherries, Garlic, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Spring Onions, Peppers (a few), Greens, Cucumber (Slicers), Beets (rainbow and red), Methley Plums (small red plums), Some seconds of Cling Peaches and Lodi Apples (priced to sell!), Cut flowers, Some Planters, Cantaloupe and local watermelon!   Five Points Farm Market and Greenhouse accepts WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP Checks for fruits and vegetables.

The Meat Shack at Strohmer's Farm - Pork, Beef, Goat and a Plentiful Supply of Duck and Chicken Eggs – Lately, The Meat Shack has been bringing a variety of their farm-fresh, naturally produced meats including pork sausage and more!  Wonder what they’re bringing this week? A variety of their farm-fresh meats, from pork sausage, bacon, ham steaks, all pork hot dogs, hot Italian sausage, ground beef, beef cubes, ground goat and more!  Special Orders are accepted for Strip Steaks and Chicken Parts.

Whispering Breeze Farm - This Taneytown-based farm owned by Brower family has some of the best local cheese around! The Pizza Llama - Woodfired Pizza! – ANDREW’S BACK and he said this week he’s trying some new PIZZA LLAMA recipes! Wonder if we’ll he’ll be jolly as he makes holly pizza??? It’s “seasonally” decorated with Jalapeños, Cilantro, Green Onions, Cherry Tomatoes and Mozzarella! Offering wood-fired pizza on-site while you wait! The Pizza Llama uses farm-fresh ingredients and much of the time, those ingredients are coming from the farmers and producers at the market!

We're celebrating Kids' Day this Wednesday, July 6th at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market! In addition to a kid's activity area (The Kids' Zone) and some cool activities with kids, we will be learning about pediatric dental health and hosting car seat safety inspections!

healthy and nutritious foods including several farm-fresh products, such as local cheeses, meats, and green, leafy vegetables which are calcium rich and good for dental health.  From 3:00 - 6:30 PM, the market is also celebrating children’s safety by providing a “car seat safety check” sponsored by our local State Farm agent, Sheri Cates. Representatives from the Carroll County Safe Kids will be on hand at the market to perform voluntary safety inspections on car seats.” The market is providing a drive through providing an area for the car seat safety inspections as a service to the community.

Independence Day – Honoring our Recovering Military Heroes, Veterans

Ted Nettles will be at the Market (with his patriotically decorated HUMVEE this week to talk about what the Maryland Patriot Guard does to help our military service veterans.  In addition, he will be collecting Wares for Warriors, essentials and more for our recovering military service heroes who are at Walter Reed Medical Center.
