Celebrate at Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market - listed as one of Maryland’s Best Agriculture farmers' markets - this Wednesday, August 31st, and unwind as we say goodbye to the August Heat! It’s the second-to-last market of our new 15-week farmers’ market season!
We know… right? We’re sad too… because you’ve only got two more weeks to enjoy the local farm-freshness, music and more offered at the market this season!
Have you got everything you need for your Labor Day Cookout? We’ve got a robust market this Wednesday, August 31st, 3-7 pm, where you will find our farmers and producers with their local farm-fresh foods and goods and more! From local farm-fresh products such as meat, eggs, cheeses, veggies (Succulent Sweet Corn, Watermelons, Green Beans, Tomatoes, Peppers, Summer Squash, and Leafy Greens) and delicious, juicy local seasonal fruit (such as Asian Pears, Apples, Plums, Nectarines and Peaches) to jams, jellies, honey, coffee, kombucha, craft beer, local wine, baked goods, and Wool products - the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market is a cornucopia of farm-freshness just waiting for you, our local Greater Mount Airy community!
Feel the vibe... It’s the end of August, time to relax and unwind. Stay a while at the market and enjoy the vibe. We’re introducing a mind, body, spirit theme this Wednesday with recipe demonstration from local health, wellness and nutrition coach Kim Wilson and chair massages from our local Main Street masseuse, Untangled Massage Therapy’s Stacy Simons. And, sit back to listen to the acoustic music provided by Darla Jean and the Somethin' or Others, who will add to the vibe of the market through performing some good ol' fashioned folksy and old-time tunes.

The Meat Shack at Strohmer's Farm - Strohmer's has all you need for your Labor Day Weekend Cookouts!!! The Meat Shack has been bringing a variety of their farm-fresh, naturally produced meats including smoked pork sausage and more! Wonder what they’re bringing this week? A variety of their farm-fresh meats, from pork sausage, bacon, ham steaks, all pork hot dogs, hot Italian sausage, prime cuts of beef, ground beef, beef cubes, ground goat and more! Special Orders are accepted for Strip Steaks and Chicken Parts. Strohmer's also has a plentiful Supply of Duck and Chicken Eggs too!
Whispering Breeze Farm - This Taneytown-based farm owned by Brower family has some of the best local cheese around! From their herd of lovely dairy cows, you may find the following cheeses at the market this season: Hard Cheese ‐ Raw Milk Cheese: Cheddar, Garlic & Chive, Smoked Cheddar, Italian, Bacon Dill, Smoked Bacon Dill, Jalapeno; Wine Cheese (seasonal): Merlot Cheddar, Raspberry Cheddar; Pasteurized Milk Cheese:Gouda, Swiss, Buffalo Ranch Cheddar, Havarti, Caraway Havarti. All delicious and full of savory local cheesy goodness.
Willow Creek Manor Farming - Get your "garden salad" (fixin's) and a whole lot more at Willow Creek Manor Farm! Our local Certified-Organic farm out of New Windsor brought Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, Turnips, Radishes, Scallions, Spring Onions, Summer Squash, Patti Pan Squash, Eight Ball Squash, Romaine Hearts, Lettuce Mix, Sugar Snap Peas, Black Raspberries and More in the last several weeks! On their nearby New Windsor farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Maryland, the Snyder family grows Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Radishes, Pie Pumpkins, Turnips, Beets, Green Squash, Pan Squash, 10 different Winter Squash, Herbs, Potatoes and so much more naturally grown goodness.

Pheasant Hill Farm** - Pheasant Hill Farm’s Marjorie Satterlee will be bringing several varieties of tasty Pheasant Hill Farm freshly-canned jars of jams, jellies from their fruits, veggies and berries grown on the farm and raw honey (bottled fresh by Marjorie produced by some busy local honey bees).
Vista View Farms** - Autumn and Wintertime weather is just around the bend! It’s time get your Vista View Farm wool blankets, socks and more from Damascus-based Vista View Farms. Local Farmers, Marla and Andrew Keller, raise BFL (Bluefaced Leicesters) sheep, a breed known to produce the finest fleece. They will also have fall mums for sale too. Vista View Farm also has produce for sale at their farm on Clarksburg Rd.
Kim Wilson** - Local Health & Wellness Coach, Kim Wilson, will be demonstrating some “clean” recipes using locally grown fruit and veggies Kim Wilson is an Integrative Nutrition Coach, clean recipe creator and wellness entrepreneur. L <3 V E LOCAL LORE! Tour Local! Have you taken a tour of the local lore within Mount Airy? The Mount Airy Museum - featuring exhibits of Mount Airy's local lore- is housed in an historic Flatiron building located in the heart of downtown. The museum is open on Saturdays, April -November 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Take a History 101 Scavenger Hunt. Explore and learn about Mount Airy’s rich history as presented by the Mount Airy Main Street Association and the Mount Airy Branch of the Carroll County Library during the week of September 19th-24th. Learn about Mount Airy’s ties to the Underground Railroad, Freedman’s Schools, and its place in Civil War history as well as the C&O Canal and its Lodging Program.
The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market was formed in 2007 and is a production of the Mount Airy Main Street Association.
