Did you know? Thomas Jefferson gets the credit for introducing “french fries” to America when he served them at a White House dinner.

At the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market we're it's all about Farmers & Technology on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019, 3-7 PM! Celebrate local farmers and their use of technology. Did you know that Thomas Jefferson, one of the forefathers of our country, was one of the first to use crop rotation, restoring his soils health to grow better crops through a seven-year plan for his land?

Please note We've got a lot happening at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market which runs on Wednesdays through September 25, 3-7PM* in the Railyard behind the historic Mount Airy Train Station at 3 North Main Street, Mount Airy, MD 21771.  Convenient parking is available in the Municipal Parking Lot and the Bank Building Upper Lot ... along  with a few spaces at the market reserved for the handicapped. * The Market is closed on July 3rd in honor of the Mount Airy Fireworks Celebration and will reopen on Wednesday, July 10th. 

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are used every day on a farm. Farmers are real-life geniuses. They are good at just about everything - from meteorology (weather forecasting), biology, math, engineering (making stuff work in the field) and economics. A lot goes into growing food, ask your local farmer at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market this week (and every week) what they do to grow your food! You'll be amazed! {STEM ACTIVITY ... ​MUSIC AT THE MARKET: SCOTT BARRETT - 3:30 - 6:00 PM  Listen to the Music at the Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market! Adding the vibe to the market this Wednesday, June 5, is Scott Barrett, local musician extraordinaire! Scott has performed at numerous Mount Airy events, including our Market! We're sure you'll enjoy his renditions of classic hit tunes, from the Rolling Stones "Route 66" to The Doobie Brother's "Black Water," and many others!
