Corn in the truck, corn in the field. Corn in the bottom of a moonshine still.
Corn in a kettle, corn in a skillet. Corn  in a jug, hot dang*, you can feel it!
~ Corn, Blake Shelton

MUSIC AT THE MARKET ~ 4-6PM: Local Musician, Joanne Murphy, will fill the marketplace with some traditional old time Appalachian fiddle music, traditional Celtic music as well as waltzes, contra dance tunes and Irish Airs  (in the public domain).. She'll be serenading us as she plays her hammered dulcimer and fiddle! Often she brings others to play along with her! Look for Joanne to return the fourth Wednesdays of the month through August.

STORYTIME AT THE MARKET ~ 4:30-4:45 PM: Join us as local storyteller, Laura Zaborowski, reads Margaret Wise Brown's "The Fish with the Deep Sea Smile!"  The Fish with the Deep Sea Smile is about "one family’s quest among The Fish with the Deep Sea Smile. There are plenty of different fishes to explore and learn in the deep sea. Fish with blue-green eyes and whiskers three or with electric lights or fish with terrible claws? Did they manage to find the fish with a Deep Sea Smile?" Find out when Laura reads this fun rhythmic rhyming fish tale this Wednesday!  Laura will read on select afternoons around 4:30 p.m. on the train station's platform stage at the 2021 Mount Airy Main Street Farmers’ Market! Great for Kids (of All Ages but great for those at year 1 and older)! Sponsored by The Last Word Bookstore.

COVID 19 Updates: Our patrons may still place preorders for pick-up at the market during 2021.  While the statewide mandates set by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to mitigate  COVID-19  have been relaxed and lifted, and as of July 1st, they will be further lifted,  we request that everyone entering the market show respect for our community. Our patrons, vendors and farmers' market team appreciate it.

We encourage  social distancing, and hand washing/sanitation while on-site at the market. Our vendors who are serving samples and prepared food will still wear masks to protect the public; however, we leave the choice to you to mask up. Patience is appreciated as we navigate health and safety practices as we recover from uncertain times. As Spock would say, "Live Long and Prosper." That's what we want for you, so come Buy Local and Eat Fresh and Healthy, and spend time outside with us at the 2021 Mount Airy Main Street Farmers' Market!
